Dorothy A. (Marinelli) Driscoll, of Melrose, died at her home on Dec. 29, 2007 at the age of 72.
Dorothy was raised in East Boston & Malden and a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1952. After high school, she worked as a Teller for the First National Bank of Malden and an Administrative Assistant for Microwave Associates in Burlington for many years.
Dorothy resided in Melrose for 45 years and was a longtime volunteer for the Melrose Council on Aging, delivering meals on wheels to the residents of Melrose. She loved to play tennis and played in several leagues in the Melrose area for over 20 years and vacationing with her sisters in Prince Edward Island, Orlando, Ottawa and Branson, MO.
Dorothy was a tremendous artist, she enjoyed playing cards, cooking, gardening, knitting, reading, puzzles and spending time with her family. She was the beloved wife of Daniel J. Driscoll for over 49 years.
Loving mother of Pamela J. Avallone & her husband Daniel of Salem, NH, Daniel C. Driscoll & his wife Melissa of N. Reading and Stephen D. Driscoll & his wife Cynthia of Boca Raton, FL. Devoted daughter of the late Frank & Mary (Fagone) Marinelli. Caring sister of Toni Giannattasio of Wakefield, Marion Connors, Frances Kelly, JoAnne Gasparello, all of Malden and the late Ann Ventura and Andrew Marinelli. Cherished grandmother of Brianna, Shane, Michael, Patrick, Erica and Shauna. Also survived by many nieces & nephews.
Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday Jan. 3rd at 8:45AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation 425 Upham St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
