Dorothy (Gibson) Groark, 69, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after being stricken at Melrose High School. Born and raised in Somerville, she had been a Melrose resident for over 41 years. Dorothy graduated from Somervile High class of 1953. She was a Teacher's aide and Para-professional at Melrose High School for over 20 years. An avid fan of the Gately Rams baseball team and Melrose High School Boys and Girls Basketball teams, she enjoyed bowling in the Melrose Teachers' Bowling League and was a parishioner of St Mary's Church. Dorothy was the loving wife of the late Paul C. Groark. Devoted mother of Paul C. Groark Jr., William J. Groark, both of Melrose, Edward F. Groark, Patrick X. Groark and Christine M. Groark all of Saugus, Dianne M. Courter of NH, and the late Lt. Stephen A. Groark US Air Force. Sister of Frances Chipchase of Melrose, Robert Gibson of Somerville and Mary McNamara of Fl and the late Edward Gibson, Elizabeth Williams, Richard Gibson and Gerald Gibson. Also survived by 5 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, many nieces and nephews and her puppy Charlie. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St. Melrose on Saturday May 29th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert Sts, Melrose at 9 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Fri 4 - 8 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
