Obituary

Dorothy K. McCarthy, 95, died at home Friday after a short illness. Born in Boston, she lived most of her life in Melrose. She was an active member of St Mary's Parish as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and a member of the Ladies Sodality. She had lived the past three years in Weymouth. Dorothy was the wife of the late Edward J. McCarthy. Mother of Diane M. Oliverio of Weymouth, Lorraine A. Tavares of Kailua, Hawaii, Stephen DeFronzo of Manchester, NH. and the late Elizabeth Sitcawich. Grandmother of Edward Hathaway of Medford, William Selby of New York, Lawrence Sitcawich of IA, Ronald Sitcawich of W. Roxbury, Richard Sitcawich of Lowell, Peter Sitcawich of Melrose, Raj &Kris Chatterjee, Leila McLaren, and Laura Tavares all of Hawaii, David Oliverio of Weymouth, Denise Oliverio of Boston, Ryan & Alex DeFronzo both of Manchester NH. Also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Wednesday May 2 at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert Sts., Melrose at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8 pm. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
