Dr. Joseph J. Nixon

Joseph J. Nixon passed away on March 12, 2024, in Melrose, MA.

He was born in Sandersville, GA and was raised in Augusta, GA. He graduated from Mercer University and Augusta Medical School. He practiced Orthopedics for 33 years at Jewett Orthopedic Clinic, Winter Park, FL.

He was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, music and traveling.

He is survived by his loving wife Maria, son Mark (Helen), daughters Angela (Bill), Kathleen (Greg), Ruth (Rusty), Margaret (Kirk), Ellen (Lynn) and stepdaughter Nicole.

Grandchildren, Rachel, William, Michael, Caroline, Zach, Jake, Karson and Kate, and his sister Eloise Blanks, numerous nieces and nephews, family, friends and his beloved pup Annie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St., Melrose, MA at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
