Obituary

E. Dorothy Edeman, of Melrose, formerly of Malden, died on March 2, 2012 at the age of 86. Dorothy was born in Malden and a graduate of Girls Catholic High School, Class of 1943. She resided in Malden for most of her life and Melrose since 1969. Dorothy was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Guild in Wakefield for many years and a former member of the Irish American Club in Malden. She enjoyed gardening, jig saw puzzles, sewing, ballroom dancing and was an avid reader. Dorothy was a longtime Boston Bruins & Boston Red Sox fan. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry B. Edeman. Loving mother of Sharon DeSimone & her companion John Thomaszewski of Woburn,, Donna Bowen & her husband Scott of Melrose and the late Ronnie Edeman & his surviving wife Jan of Malden. Devoted sister of Marilyn Majeski of CA. Longtime companion of Albert Frazier. Also survived by 11grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday March 8th at 8:45AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-7PM. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield. Contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to the charity of your choice.
