Edith V. Edie (Johnson) Bloom passed away at Brockton Hospital in Brockton, on November 2nd, she was 87. Edie was born in Boston, raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School. Mrs. Bloom was a homemaker, a resident of Melrose for over 50 years and worked for a short time in the shoe business as a model, secretary and in sales. Edie enjoyed crafts, floral arranging and ceramics. Mrs. Bloom was the wife of the late Bertil Bloom. Mother of Karen M. Cawley & her husband Kevin of Stoughton and Kurt D. Bloom of FL. Sister-in-law of Elsa Johnson of Burlington. Grandmother of Heather Bloom, Kevin M. Cawley Jr. & Keri M. Cawley. Great grandmother of Justin Ellis. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday, Nov. 7th, at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody
