Obituary

Edna B. Ford, 81, died at the Elmhurst Nursing Home Wednesday morning after a brief illness. Born in Greene, ME, she graduated from Brookline (Mass) High School in 1936, she received her RN degree from Boston City Hospital and graduated from Somerville Hospital in 1946. Edna was a Registered Nurse who nursed in Hospitals and as a Private Duty Nurse. She became an Inspector for the Board of Registration in Medicine for the Commonwealth of Mass and retired in 1982. Edna B. ( Bourdelais ) Ford was the wife of Thomas E. Ford. Mother of Shelagh Ricker of Northborough, Linda Pickard of Worcester, Michael D. of Maine, Christopher T. of Lynnfield,Virginia E. of Wakefield and Kathleen M. Ford of Quincy. Sister of Robert Bourdelaise of Florida and the late Dorothy Clark. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, two great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St Mary's Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert Sts., on Saturday July 28, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends invited. A Gathering to celebrate Edna's life will held in the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St., Melrose on Friday from 7 to 9 pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Fernald League Assoc. of Retarded Citizens, P. O. Box 85, Belmont MA 02478 - 0002.
