Obituary

Edna A. (Sullivan) McCauley of Melrose, formerly of Revere, Chelsea and Port Charlotte, Fl., passed away after a lengthy illness on December 29, 2025, at the age of 92 years.

Beloved wife of the late Hugh F. McCauley, devoted mother of Michael H. McCauley and his wife Jeannette Boulay, and David E. McCauley and his wife Mary.

Edna was “Nana Sunshine” to five grandchildren, Pamela Muise and her husband Paul, Kelly Davis and her husband Greg, Robin Scandella and her husband Aiden, Patrick McCauley and his fiancé Cheyenne Regnier, and Casey McCauley. Edna was also a dear great grandmother to Walter and Daisy Muise, and Maggie, Ruby, and Dorothy Davis.

Edna was pre-deceased by her 15 siblings, brothers Martin Sullivan, Leo Sullivan, James Sullivan, Larry Sullivan, Raymond Sullivan, John Sullivan, William Sullivan, Lenny Sullivan and Edna’s twin, Edward Sullivan. She was also pre-deceased, by her sisters, Florence Twomey, Margaret Nickerson, Elizabeth Petony, Claire McKenna, Ellen Thornton and Carol Mendez.

Edna loved camping at Shawtown in Ossipee, NH and spending her days at the beach near her home in Revere. She was a great cook and also enjoyed dining out at numerous restaurants, and she could always remember a great meal. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow. Her love of family will be missed by all.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 9:00-11:30 am, followed by a prayer service at 11:30 am at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, MA. 02176.
