Edward A. Coyne, of Barre, VT, formerly of Melrose, died at the Rowan Court Health & Rehabilitation Center in Barre, VT on Jan. 21, 2010 at the age of 80. Ed was born & raised in East Boston and attended East Boston schools. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII with the 15th Infantry Regiment in Japan. He worked in Environmental Services at the New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham for 22 years before his retirement in 1994. Ed was a member & Sergeant of Arms at the D.A.V. #13 in Boston for many years. He was the loving son of the late Alfred & Matilda (Piquette) Coyne. Caring brother of the late Alfred Coyne and Madelyn Vallee. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, Jan. 26th at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Monday from 6-8PM. Burial in VA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
