Edward M. Greeley, of Hobe Sound, Fl, formerly of Melrose, died in Florida on May 18, 2008 at the age of 56. Ed was born & raised in Melrose and a graduate of St. Mary's Grammar School. He attended Melrose High School and Boston State College and played hockey for the Melrose Jr. Reds & Boston State College. Ed's passion and life's work was exhibiting therapy equipment within his own business for over 30 years and his family will continue on with his legacy. He was a New England sports fanatic, enjoyed golf, and was the best grill man and an extraordinary articulate speaker. Ed was the beloved husband of Darlene (Dolly) Riess of Hobe Sound, Fl. Devoted son of William P. Greeley & his wife Sue Greeley of Vero Beach, FL and the late Ruth J. Greeley. Loving father of Edward M. Greeley Jr. of Methuen and Joseph B. Greeley of Haverhill. Cherished grandfather of Kian M. Greeley of Methuen and Joseph B. Greeley Jr. of Haverhill. Caring brother of James J. Greeley of Saugus, William P. Greeley of Malden, John J. Greeley of Melrose, Cathy Greeley of Raymond, NH, and Maureen Connolly of Wakefield. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Saturday, Sept. 6th, at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8PM. Interment in Puritan Lawn Cemetery Peabody.
