Obituary

Edward F. Hasselbrack Jr. of Melrose, died at home on Sept. 4th after a lengthy illness at the age of 64. Ed was born in Malden & was a graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1959 and was a lifelong Melrose resident. He worked as a forman for General Electric in both Everett & Lynn for over 30 years. Ed served in the Navy and was a member of the Melrose lodge of Elks & AMVETS Post #21 at Harold OYoung Post 2394 for many years. He loved boating and was known as Captain Ed at the Yacht Club Vista in Gilford, NH & was well loved by many friends. He was the beloved husband of Deanne C. (Sullivan) Hasselbrack. Son of the late Edward F. & his wife Dorothy (Shea) Hasselbrack. Loving father of Peter E. Hasselbrack & his former wife Timi of NC, Judy L. Tasker & her spouse Mary of Melrose and Patrick S. Hasselbrack of NH. Devoted grandfather of April Tasker. Cherished brother of Kenneth Hasselbrack & his wife Roberta of NH and Phyllis Allen & her husband Mark of Barre, MA. Caring uncle of Kerry Hasselbrack of NH. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thurs. Sept. 9th at 9AM. Funeral mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Wed. Sept 8th from 4-8PM.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Eds name to Hallmark Hospice, 100 Hospital Rd., Malden, MA 02148.
