Edward F. Higgins, Sr., of Melrose, passed away at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, on September 19, 2023, at 76 years of age.

Ed was born in Boston, a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1965 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After returning from the Army, Ed worked for M. & M. Transportation in Boston for several years and went on to work as a Manager of the AGFA Corporation in Wilmington for many years, before his retirement.

Ed was the beloved husband of Janet A. (Rando) Higgins. Loving father of Edward F. Higgins, Jr. & his wife Akiko of Idaho. Cherished grandfather of Liam Higgins & his wife Camika of VT, Clara Santoro of TN, Sophie Santoro & Declin Santoro, both of Webster. Caring brother of Patricia Kelly & her husband Robert of Attleboro. Brother-in-law of Charlene Zanellis & her husband Christopher of NH. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ed's memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
