Edward Joseph Lloyd passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on July 24th at the age of 44. Ed was born in Malden, raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1978 and has been a lifelong resident. He worked for D&R Paving of Stoneham for the past 19 years as well as for Keohan Fuels of Melrose for 17 years. He was a dedicated husband and father, he was a coach in the Melrose Girls Basketball League and Melrose Girls Softball. Ed was a member of the Incarnation Church, the Melrose Fish & Game Club and the VFW Harold OYoung Post #2394 in Melrose. He was the loving husband of Sharon A. (Sullivan) Lloyd. Devoted father of Nicole M. & Jessica A. Lloyd both of Melrose. Loving son of Edward I. Lloyd of Melrose and the late Doris (Gallant) Lloyd. Devoted brother of Liz Dellus & her husband Mike of Saugus, Eileen Lyle & her husband Mike of Melrose and John Lloyd & his wife Anne of Melrose. Beloved son-in-law of Leo & Claire Gillis of Melrose. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. July 28th at 9AM.
