Edward B. Noel passed away suddenly at Lawrence General Hospital on July 2nd at the age of 88. Edward was raised in Saugus, was a lifelong resident of Saugus and was a well known farmer in Saugus. He owned and operated a pigery & farm on the Saugus/ Melrose line by Mount Hood Golf Course through out his entire life. Edward worked for the Dear Island Waste Treatment Plant for 20 years, he cut the marsh hay in Saugus and plowed snow in the winter. He was well known for his hay rides in Saugus, his exibits and horse pulls at the Topsfield and Dearfield Fairs. Edward was a member of the Italian American Club in Saugus and the Massachusetts Farmers Assoc. He is the son of the late Albert & Hettie (Bent) Noel. Brother of Thelma Sprague of Sailsbury, Arlene Miller of Fl and the late Andrew B. Noel Sr. Uncle of Andrew B. Noel Jr., Pamela Smith-Noel both of ME. Also survived by serveral other nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews. Funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday July 7th at 12noon. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00AM-12:00 Noon. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
