Edward G. Stack Sr. passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, on Feb. 10th, he was 91. Mr. Stack was born and raised in Cambridge and graduated from Ringe High School in Cambridge. Ed has been a resident of Melrose since 1947. He worked as a quality control inspector for NASA, for over 40 years, working on the Apollo 1 project as well as all the Apollo projects at NASA. Ed held licenses as an engineer, carpenter and as an electrician. He was a member of the K of C in Melrose and was a longtime member of St. Marys Church in Melrose. Edward was the beloved husband of Irene M. (Willett) Stack. Loving father of Beverly A. Richardson & her husband Herbert of CT, Joseph E. Stack of St. Maarten, Edward G. Stack Jr. & his wife Cheryl, Mary Kay McIntyre & her husband Michael all of Reading and Terri A. Uzzle & her husband John of Melrose. Brother-in-law of Alice Stack of Woburn, Kathy Willett of Harwich and Marty & John Murphy of Canton. Loving grandfather of Amy, Andrea, Edward III, Adam, Katie, Megan, Jared & Jade Irene. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. Feb. 15th at 10:30AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
