Edward Vozzella of Saugus, formerly of South Medford, passed, on Monday, February 4, 2008. He was 79 years of age. Mr. Vozzella was born in Medford to the late Erminio & Sadie (DiStacio) Vozzella. He attended Medford schools and was a WWII US Army Veteran, serving with the187th Glider Infantry Regt. and was trained as a paratrooper. After his discharge from the army, Ed lived in Medford for several years before moving to Saugus in 1962; where he built his own home. Mr. Vozzella owned and operated the Mass Construction Company Inc. of Saugus for over 45 years. He was a hard working and dedicated family man. He enjoyed playing cards, his trips to Las Vegas and his winter trips to Florida. Ed was the beloved husband of Gloria (Mancini) Vozzella. Devoted father of Gail A. Vozzella of Saugus and Edward Vozzella & his wife Jane of Peabody. Proud Papa of Clayton J. & Olivia E. Vozzella. Loving brother of John Vozzella of Delray, FL. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, Feb. 8th at 9:15AM. Funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 16 Summer St. Saugus, at 10:30AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8PM. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
