Eileen M. (Thomas) Dolan, of Melrose, died at the Winchester Nursing Center on Oct. 8, 2009 at the age of 81. Eileen was born in Chelsea & raised in Melrose and a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Class of 1945. She was a lifelong resident of Melrose, a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield since 1959 & Most Blessed Sacrament Ladies Guild. Eileen was a Cub Scout den mother, little league team mother and a member of the Wakefield Bowling League. She enjoyed knitting & baking and was loved by many. Eileen loved all of the families & friends in her neighborhood and her caregivers at Home Instead Elder Care in Melrose. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard F. "Lenny" Dolan. Loving mother of Jeanne Farry & her late husband Rick of Malden, Bob Dolan & his wife Kathy of Reading, Nancy Hegarty & her husband Joe of Reading, Ann Spataro & her husband Richie of Melrose, Jim Dolan & his wife Sherri of Wenham, Mark Dolan & his wife Paige of Strafford, NH and Leonard F. Dolan III & his wife Amy of Wenham. Caring sister of the late Elaine Zanni. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday Oct. 13th at 8:45AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
