Eileen Mary Fardy, of Melrose, died on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 62 years of age. Born on July 12, 1947 in Stoneham to the late Martin & Lillian (King) Fardy, she was raised in Melrose and a resident of Melrose since 1949. She attended St. Francis Xaverian University in Nova Scotia and then graduated from Suffolk Law School in 1975. Ms. Fardy worked as an attorney with New England Telephone for 27 years and later as an administrator for 10 years with Communities for People of Waltham, a non-profit social service for troubled children. Eileen was a member of St. Mary's Church of Melrose where she sang in the Choir for many years. She also sang with the Melrose Polymania Choral Society for 10 years. She enjoyed gardening, was a fantastic cook and was very proud to have completely rehabilitated her childhood home here in Melrose. She was the caring sister of John T. Farady & his wife Jane A. of Ipswich, Francis J. Fardy of Reading, Dennis E. Fardy of Stoneham & the late James M. Fardy. Loving aunt of Christopher J. & David A. Farady, Jessica E., Joanna F., Kimberly R., Laura E. & Anne C. Fardy. Also survived by many cousins & extended family. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday August 31st at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2-6PM.
