Eleanor J. (Doran) Costello of Malden, passed away June 24, 2005, at her home. Born & raised in Somerville, MA to the late Michael & Hilda (White) Doran, she graduated from the Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 and worked as an RN for Cambridge City Hospital & St. Elizabeths Hospital for over 10 years. Ellie also worked for many years with the Cambridge Public School System developing a pilot program for youngsters at risk known as Follow Through. She later worked for UPS doing collections for 15 years. Ellie was the wife of the late John F. Costello with whom they shared 36 years of marriage. She was an active member of Sacred Hearts Church in Malden for 40 years. Loving mother of John F. of Phoenix, AZ, James M. of Malden, Dianne M. Costello-Ford & her husband Martin of Melrose, David W. of Malden, Paul J. of Billerica, & Christine A. Kudlate & her husband Christopher of Florence, AZ. Cherished grandmother of Erick & Paul Costello, Shannon Carroll, & Meghan Ford. Great grandmother of Seth Carroll. Sister of Mary Goswell of Virginia, Elizabeth Shea & Ann Doran both of Melrose, MA William Doran of Boston, MA., & the late Edward & Frank Doran, Dorothy Mulcahy, Marguerite McCarthy, & Lois Burghoff. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wednesday, June 29th, at 10AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main St. Malden, at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 4-8PM.
