Eleanor G. (Hogan) Desjardins, 84, died at Melrose - Wakefield Hospital Saturday after a brief illness. Born in Boston, she had been a Melrose resident for over 63 years and had resided in Atteboro for 18 years. She earned a Bachelors Degree from North Shore Community College in 1985. Eleanor was a Metrologist for the Department of Defense, in Boston, for many years and retired from the General Electric Co, in 1975. She was a member of National Assoc. of Federal Employees and a parishioner of St Mary's Church. Eleanor was the wife of the late Julian A. Desjardins. Mother of 'Gerri' Drouin of Melrose. Grandmother of Paul F. Drouin Jr, of Melrose. Great grandmother of Matthew Furlong of Wilmington. Sister of the late Ruth Palumbo and Grace Huwe. Aunt of Naomi Ruprecht and Sandy Andon. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St Melrose on Tues May 25th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, corner of Myrtle & Herber Sts, Melrose at 9 AM. Relatives and friends invited Visiting hours Mon 4 - 8 PM. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
