Eleanor M. (McLaughlin) (Woodward) Ellard of Stoneham, formerly of Everett & Chelsea, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006 after a lengthy illness. She was 79 years old. Born & raised in Chelsea, MA to the late John F. & Margaret (Coleman) McLaughlin. She graduated from St. Rose High School, class of 1945 where she was valedictorian. She was the principal clerk of the City of Chelsea Water Deptment and Soldiers Home of Chelsea. Mrs. Ellard was a member of Our Lady of Grace Socialites of Chelsea from 1959-2000 and an officer of Our Lady of Grace Womens Club from 1956-1973. She moved to Stoneham 7 years ago and was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Wakefield. She was married to the late Emmett E. Woodward for 16 years and later to the late Joseph Ellard for 5 years. Eleanor was the devoted mother of Anne MacKenzie of Manchester, NH, Geraldine Dakin & her husband George of Melrose, Ellen Robinson & her husband Bruce of Stoneham, & Susan DeNapoli & her husband William also of Stoneham. Devoted sister of Marion T. Decowski of Derry, NH. Loving grandmother of Matthew& Brendan MacKenzie, Jodi, George, & Katie Dakin, Michael & Maryellen Robinson & Christopher DeNapoli.
