Eleanor M. (Mazza) Puleo passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. She was 87 years of age. Eleanor was born in Malden on October 7, 1922 to the late Rocco & Mary Mazza. Mrs. Puleo was raised in Malden, graduated from Girls Catholic High School in Malden and lived most of her life in Malden. She lived in Contoocook, New Hampshire for 15 years and the past 5 years in Billerica. Eleanor worked on the assembly line at Converse Rubber Company in Malden for 16 years. Mrs. Puleo cherished the times spent with her family, enjoyed cleaning and baking. Prior to her husband Carl's death, they enjoyed trips to the mountains and long rides in the car. Eleanor was the wife of the late Carl J. Puleo. Mother of Carl J. Puleo Jr. & his wife Carolyn of Melrose, Donna M. Downs & her husband George of Billerica, June E. Wallace & her husband Keith of Contoocook, NH. Sister of Mary Palermo of Malden and the late Rose Puleo & Angelina Guerrieo. Grandmother of Colleen, Alex, Kimberly, Thomas, Eric, Laurabeth, Mark & Brian. Great grandmother of Patrick, Ashley, Matthew, Alyssa, Matthew, Brooke, Thomas Jr., Kevin & Jenna, Taylor, Jill, Tori & Nicole. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thurs. Dec. 17th at 9:30am. Funeral Mass in Eleanor's honor at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation prior to the funeral on Thurs. morning from 8:30-9:30AM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
