Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Brennan) Bailey passed away the Epoch of Melrose, on Saturday, November 19th at the age of 94. Betty was born in Melrose on January 22, 1917 to the late Michael & Margaret (Morgan) Brennan. Elizabeth was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1935 and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Bailey worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Sullivan, Limone, Clark & Waystack in Melrose for 27 years, retiring in 1989. After her retirement Betty worked part time at the Bellevue Dress shop in Melrose. Mrs. Bailey was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church, a former member of the Ladies Sodality at church, enjoyed ballroom dancing, crossword puzzles and gardening. Mrs. Bailey was the wife of the late Philip J. Bailey. Mother of Maureen Dineen & her husband Paul of Malden. Grandmother of Jeffrey P. Dineen & his wife Sheila of Tewksbury, Christopher P. and Sarah E. Dineen of Malden. Great grandmother of Emily Elizabeth and Kylie Paulina Dineen. Sister of the late John & Richard Brennan. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Saturday, Nov. 26th at 8AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00-8:00PM.
