Elizabeth Ann (Sias) Mulligan died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Dec. 2nd at the age of 95. She was born in Boston, raised in Revere, graduated from Revere High School, Salem Normal School and Portia Law School in Boston. Elizabeth taught elementary school in Revere at the Shurtleff School for 13 years, has been living in Melrose the past 46 years living many years on Larchmont Road. Elizabeth was a homemaker, a member of the Revere & Melrose Women's Club, the Melrose Garden Club and was a member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose. She was very active in the Melrose Daughter's of the American Revolution as past state curator, a regent for the Old State House Chapter and a member of the DAR in Wolfeboro NH. She was the wife of the late James F. Mulligan. Mother of Alice M. Truscott, Helyn E. Connerr both of England, James F. Mulligan Jr. of Raymond NH and Susan J. Szwed of S. Portland ME. Grandmother of Meredith Szwed and Allison Mulligan. Sister of Alice Killion-Sasso of Revere and the late Margaret Toomey and Benjmin F. Sias. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday Dec 6th at 10AM. Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, corner of Herbert & Myrtle Sts, Melrose at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs. 4-7 PM only. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
