Elizabeth C. Betty (Fox) Sullivan passed away at home, on July 7, 2007, she was 79. Betty was born in Boston, raised in Charlestown, graduated from Charlestown High School, lived most of her life in Charlestown and Melrose since 1982. Mrs. Sullivan worked as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company for 40 years, retiring in 1989. She was a former member of St. Catherines Church in Charlestown and a present member of St. Marys Church in Melrose. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who loved to garden. She was a member of the N.E. Telephone Pioneers and the Charlestown Old School Girls Association. Mrs. Sullivan was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Sullivan. Loving mother of Edward J. Sullivan & his wife Pamela of Charlestown, Noreen A. Rene Mullen & her husband Robert of Melrose and Joanne S. Janielis & her husband Kevin of Wakefield. Devoted sister of Margaret Rossi of Woburn, Mary Kelly of MD, Rose Stryke of Woburn, Rita Keohane of Magnolia, Maureen Crocker of N. Andover and the late Edward Fox. Beloved grandmother of Caitlin, Edward, Emily, Michael, Rachel & Pamela. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and Tinker the dog. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. July 11th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
