Ellen J. Filadoro passed away at the Salem Hospital in Salem, MA on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. She was only 62 years of age. Ellen was born in Melrose on June 15, 1948 to the late Henry A. & Charlotte (Ashman) Mahoney. Ellen was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1966 and from Brooks Junior College in Boston. She was a resident of Wakefield for 33 years and has been living in Mashpee for the past 7 years. Mrs. Filadoro was a dedicated and loving wife and mother who cherished her grandchildren and times spent with family. Ellen worked as an administrative assistant in Wakefield for the business manager of the school department for 25 years, retiring in June 2010. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church in Wakefield, loved to travel, trips to Key West, quilting and gardening. Mrs. Filadoro was the beloved wife of 40 years to Paul R. Filadoro. Loving mother of Richard P. Filadoro & his wife Linda of Lynnfield, Robert A. Filadoro & his wife Tanya of Windham, NH and Christopher P. Filadoro & his wife Katie of Chelmsford. Cherished grandmother of Dante, Julian, Dario, Addison, Emma, Lyla & Joshua Filadoro. Devoted sister of the late Henry A. Mahoney Jr.. Cherished niece of Evelyn Ashman of Peabody & Dorothy Dempsey of Woburn. Also survived by her loving cousin Kathy Savlen & her husband Peter of NH as well as several other close cousins and friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Saturday May 7th, at 9AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8PM. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
