Ellen T. Grogan, age 75, died at Boston Medical Center on Monday Jan 8th after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Mattapan, she attended Roslindale High School. She lived in E Boston for 33 yrs before moving to Malden 10 yrs ago. Ellen was a Matron for the Dept of Social Service in Boston at the Temporary Home for Women & Children. She was a member of Sacred Hearts Church in Malden. Ellen T. ( Buttomer ) Grogan was the wife of John F. Grogan and the late Wesley S. Beal. Daughter of the late James F. & Ellen M. ( Smart ) Buttomer. Mother of Ellen Ferrandini of Mojave CA, Kathleen Lombard and Joanne Ferris both of Bradford,MA, Mary Tropeano of Sugar Land TX, Judith Durante of Revere,Teresa Trainito of Malden, Gina Cerbone of Wilmington and the late James W. Beal. Sister of James F. Buttomer of Quincy and the late Margaret Davis. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Former mother-in-law of Carol Beal of Malden. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St, Melrose on Fri Jan 12 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main St, Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs 4 - 9 pm. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Retired employee of the Temporary Home for Women & Children, Boston.
