Elsie Constance Sousa passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on February 21, 2019. She was 80 years of age. Elsie was born in Somerville on April 12, 1938 to the late Anthony & Elsie (Lopes) Sousa; she was raised in Melrose and attended Melrose Schools. Miss Sousa has been a lifelong resident of Melrose and had worked at Triangle in Malden for over 20 years. She loved her family, loved to eat, enjoyed listening to Perry Como, watching the Golden Girls on TV and showing off her jewelry. Elsie was the loving sister of Anthony Sousa & his wife Maureen, Joseph Sousa & his wife Maria and the late Mary Levasseur and the late Arthur Sousa Sr. & his wife Angelina of Melrose. Proud aunt of Arthur Jr., Rose, Anthony, Anthony Jr., Deanna, Michael, Joseph Jr., Kristen, Kelly, Katelyn, Colleen,Chris, Stacey and Michelle. Also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, family members and friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 8:30-10:00 AM. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose at 10:30 AM. Burial at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
