Elvera (DiOrio) Sasso, formerly of Revere, died on June 30, 2017 at the age of 98. Elvera was born & raised in Everett and attend Everett schools. She resided in Revere for many years and worked as a Sales Clerk for Filenes in Boston for over 20 years retiring at the age of 62. Elvera was very outgoing and her family was the most important part of her life. She was the beloved wife of the late Armando Sasso for over 60 years. Loving mother of Joan D. White of S. Windsor, CT, Guy Sasso & his wife Jean of Stoneham and the late Thomas A. Sasso. Caring sister of the late Louise Scanzillo, Michael DiOrio, Joseph DiOrio, Mary Frongillo and Theresa Guarino. Also survived by 6 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, July 6th from 10:00-11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
