Emily G. (Simono) Montgomery, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Feb. 5, 2011 at the age of 90. Emily was born in Woburn, raised in Stoneham and a graduate of Stoneham High School. She worked in the Caf at the Northeast Vocational High School in Wakefield for 20 years. Emily resided in Melrose for 65 years and enjoyed bingo, casino's, traveling and most of all, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late William R. Montgomery Sr. Loving mother of William R. Montgomery Jr. & his wife Fumiko of Meredith, NH and Nancy R. Montgomery of Melrose. Foster mother of Linda C. (Slavin) Stevenson & her husband Kent of Melrose and Audrey J. (Slavin) Petkewich & her husband James of Saugus. Cherished grandmother of Sandra, Kim, Jill, Sarah, Heidi, Shannon, Kristin and Justin. Caring great grandmother of Cody, Brett, Ryan, Matthew, Emily, Dylan, Austin, George, Jake and Domenic. Devoted sister of the late Dorothy Stokes, Eleanor Hamilton and Ruth Mahoney. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday Feb. 10th at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
