Erma A. (Mucciarone) Graffam, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on July 25, 2012 at the age of 82. Erma was born & raised in Franklin and a graduate of Franklin High School, Dean Academy and the Malden Business School. She resided in Malden for 21 years and Melrose since 1972. Mrs. Graffam worked as an Assistant Loan Officer for the Malden Redevelopment Authority for 30 years before her retirement. Erma was a member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose; St. Mary's Ladies Sodality, St. Mary's Alter Guild and volunteered at the food pantry. She enjoyed knitting, traveling across country, attending her family's sporting events and "Erma's kitchen was open all night". She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Graffam. Loving mother of Bobbi McNaught & her husband Robert of WA, Susan Cummings of Essex, Nancy Learned & her husband William of Melrose, Robert Graffam & his wife Phyllis, Billy Graffam, Kathleen Murphy & her husband Billy, all of Malden, Peter Graffam of Melrose and the late John F "Jack" Graffam. Cherished sister of Antoinette (Graffam) Toney of NV. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, July 30th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2-6PM.
