Esther C.(Castronuevo) Fortaleza, of Stoneham, died at her home on June 28, 2005 at the age of 72. Ester was born and raised in the Philippines and came to the United States in 1971. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the Mass Eye & Ear Infirmary in Boston for over 18 years also Malden Hospital and Glenridge Nursing Home in Malden until her retirement. Esther was a Stoneham resident for over 21 years and a member of St. Marys Church in Melrose for many years. She was the beloved wife of Santiago D. Sonny Fortaleza. Loving mother of Edgardo Nuestro & his wife Jennifer, Jacinto Nuestro & his wife Angelica, all of CA and Emilio Nuestro & his wife Liza of W. Roxbury. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday July 2nd at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8PM. Burial in St. Patricks Cemetery, Stoneham.
