Esther D. (Lucy) DeCoste passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on October 21, 2006, she was 91 years of age. Esther was born in Sharon, raised in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School. Mrs. DeCoste has been a resident of Melrose for the past 68 years. Esther was a homemaker, a dedicated wife & mother, she enjoyed gardening and was a longtime member of St. Marys Church and the Ladies Sodality at church. Esther was the wife of the late Leonard DeCoste. Mother of Kathryn McManus of Melrose, Marilyn Weddleton of Billerica, Carol MacKay of CT, Jean McLaughlin of FL & Jacquelyn Lusas of Melrose. Sister of the late Alice Worth, Herbert & Richard Lucy. Also survived by 24 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandsons and several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. Oct. 25th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 4-8PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
