Evangeline C. Jeanne Walsh, of Melrose, died at home on Sept. 2nd at the age of 82. Jeanne was born & raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School & a lifelong Melrose resident. She worked as a secretary for General Electric in Everett for 40 years until her retirement in 1984. Jeanne volunteered at the Melrose Library and was a member of the Melrose Womens club for many years. She was the daughter of the late James B.& Margaret(McDougall) Walsh. Sister of Mary R. Ege & John J. Walsh of Melrose and the late Catherine I.Willwerth, Margaret F., James E., Alexander D., Daniel C. and Patrick J. Walsh. Longtime companion of Richard Dick Whidden. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St., Melrose on Wed. Sept 8th at 10AM. Funeral Mass in St Marys Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert St, Melrose at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to the Mass from 9AM to 10 AM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
