Following a courageous battle with Lymphoma, Fabiola Cordano, age 42, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 31, 1979, in Lima, Peru to her parents Carolina and Pedro Cordano. Fabiola spent her early childhood in Lima, Peru moving to Winthrop at the age of 8, and graduating from Winthrop High School, class of 1997.
Fabiola was both sweet and fierce. Her energy could light up a room. Fabiola loved to love people. She believed in living life to the fullest.
She completed her Bachelor's in Psychology degree at the University of Massachusetts. After working 10 years as a real estate broker, she went back to school to complete a Master's in Education degree.
She was a beloved teacher in the Boston & Cambridge Public School system. Teaching was her passion. Driven by a desire to help underprivileged children, Fabiola took great pride in knowing she truly made a difference in the lives of inner-city kids.
Above all, Fabiola loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed her role as the cool, fun-loving aunt! She was always a loving influence on her many nieces and nephews. Family was everything to her.
Fabiola leaves behind her longtime partner Peter Myrthil, her parents Carolina and Pedro Cordano, her sister Viviana Cordano and her husband, Frank Ciampa, her sister Giannina Wilkinson and her husband, Alex, her brother Franco Cordano and his wife, Pam, her partner's parents Marlene Spence-Myrthil and Luc Myrthil, and many nieces and nephews.
For all those she loved and touched deeply, please join us for a celebration of Fabiola's life on Saturday morning September 11, 2021, between 8:00 am – 9:30 am at Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, MA. Followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St Mary of the Annunciation Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose. Burial will be private.
