Florence C. (Lee) Bernard died at her daughter's home in NH on Aug. 23rd at the age of 82. She was born in Providence RI, raised in Providence, graduated from Wakefield High Class of 1939 and Emmanuel College Class of 1943. Florence was a homemaker, had worked for General Electric as an engineer's assistant, was a tutor at the Lincoln Elementary School in Melrose, worked at Moultons Curtains and for Tricap for several years. Mrs. Bernard has been a resident of Melrose for over 60 years and has summered in Sanbornton NH since 1943. Florence was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose, the St. Mary's Ladies Sodality and the Melrose Women's Club. She was the wife of the late George L. Bernard Jr. Mother of Mary Hull & her husband Arthur of NJ, Anne Howe & her husband Richard of NH, George L. Bernard III & his wife Patricia of CA, Ellen Shrager & her husband Edward of PA and John Bernard & his wife Michelle of NH. Sister-in-law of M. Katherine Guluzian of Gloucester. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sat. Aug. 30th at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 3-7PM.
