Frances D. (Doulas) Elias passed away at the Aberjona Nursing Home in Winchester, on July 22, 2013. She was 96 years of age. Frances was born in Boston on May 31, 1917 to the late Michael & Andriana (Vardakis) Elias. She was raised in Boston, lived in Wakefield for 40 years and the past 22 years in Melrose. Mrs. Elias worked as an assisted underwriter for the American Mutual Insurance Company for 18 years, retiring in 1980. Frances has been a longtime member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Woburn. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred S. Elias. Devoted mother of Michael Elias and his wife Denise of Tewksbury. Loving grandmother of Jaime Elias of Arlington and Kaitlyn Papallardo & her husband Phillip of Tewksbury. Sister of the late Helen Saunders and Mary Demas. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday July 25th from 9:00-10:30AM, followed by a service at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 70 Montvale Ave. Woburn at 11:00AM. Burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield after the service. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
