Francis J. Clifford passed away at home on December 7, 2006, he was 84. Frank was born and raised in Everett, graduated from Everett High School, class of 1941 and went to Wentworth Institute. Mr. Clifford was a WWII Navy Veteran, serving in the US Navy from 1943 to 1945. He worked for the American Gas Meter Company for several years and then in sales for the Homanhs Associates for a few years. Frank started his own pipe insulator company, ABC Installation, which he ran for 20 years. He was a longtime resident of Melrose, a life member of the VFW Harold OYoung Post #2394, he loved golf and was a member of Mt. Hood Golf Club. Mr. Clifford was the devoted husband of Josephine H. (Pavone) Clifford. Loving father of Frances J. Cook & her husband Richard of Melrose, Donna Lee Athanas & her husband Ronald of Manchester-By-The-Sea and Deborah G. Hurley & her former husband Kevin of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer Cook, Kristen & Christopher Cook, Michael & Dorothy Athanas, Steven & Jennifer Athanas, Derek & Stephanie McQuillan and Dennis & Michelle Hurley. Brother of the late James, William & Norman Clifford. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Mon., Dec. 11th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 9AM. Family & friends invited. Visiting hours Sun. from 3-7PM.
