Francis J. O'Brien, 75, died Sunday at Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach , FL, after a brief illness. Francis was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School and was a Melrose resident until 1984. He worked as a maintenance engineer for Sears Roebuck Co of Saugus MA for over 22years. After retiring, he moved to Florida and has been living in Boynton Beach Florida the past 20 years. Frank was a WWII Army Veteran. He was the husband of Jeanne L. (Usher) O'Brien. Father of James S. O'Brien of W. Palm Beach Fl, Robert F. O'Brien of Malden, Daniel P. O'Brien & his wife Kim of Stoneham, Geraldine M. Rowe of Wakefield, William J. O'Brien of Boynton Beach Fl, and David A. O'Brien & his wife Caroline of Malden. Brother of Mary Friot & her husband Earl of Woburn and Paul O'Brien of Melrose. Also survived by 10 grandchidren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Thurs Nov 13 at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert Sts, Melrose at 9 AM. Visiting hours Wed 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
