Obituary

Frank N. Sardone, of Ashaway, RI, formerly of Newburyport, Revere & Malden, died at the Brigham & Women's Hospital on Jan. 7th at the age of 72. Frank is the beloved husband of Linda H. (Hoerler) Sardone. Loving father of Derek Sardone & his wife Jaclyn of Malden. Father in law of Nicole Sardone of Winthrop. Caring brother of Mary Ann, Joanne and Deborah, all of Reading. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Luis, Dominic, Giovanni, Savannah & nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Catherine Sardone and son Frank Jr. Frank is also mourned by Linda's family, the Hoerler's and Slabe's, who loved him like a son and brother. Frank was born in Boston, living in and around the Boston area until moving to Rhode Island in 2006. He was a Licensed Construction Superintendent, working on projects from single-family homes to hotels to high rises throughout his career. Frank and his wife loved to travel near and far. He loved oceans and streams, with a passion for scuba diving and fly fishing. He was a master woodworker, crafting beautiful things in his home wood workshop. He was an avid Patriots fan. In his retirement years, he got great joy from the extra time he spent with his grandchildren. Frank was known for his sense of humor and his ability to connect easily with people of all ages. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday, Jan. 13th from 10AM-1PM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Ashaway Free Library, 15 Knight St, Ashaway RI 02804 or Reel Recovery, 160 Brookside Rd., Needham, MA 02492.
