Frank Anthony DeChristopher was born on May 29, 1928, was raised in Chelsea, MA and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1946. He attended Boston College, where he graduated with a degree in Psychology in 1951. He joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Hood Texas during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956.
In 1960, Frank began working at Raytheon and went on to become Director of Human Resources at Raytheon's Bedford Laboratory, before retiring in 1992. During his years at Raytheon, he earned his Doctorate in Psychology and taught at the Raytheon Institute at Fitchburg State College. Frank was an avid painter, reader and model builder, and loved the beach and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his warm smile, big heart and deep love and devotion to his family.
Frank was the loving father of Susan L. Davis & her husband Dan of Gloucester, Frank A. "Chris" DeChristopher Jr. of Stoneham, John P. DeChristopher & his wife Kelly of Scituate and Matthew P. DeChristopher & his wife Karen of North Reading. Devoted sister of Louise C. DeChristopher of Stoneham. Cherished grandfather of John Jr. & Danielle DeChristopher, Keith & Nicholas Vient, Derek, Joshua & Kasandra DeChristopher.
Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday June 4th at 8:45AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2-6PM. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
