Frank M. Mayo, of Saugus, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 82 years. Born on May 4, 1926 in Malden, he was the son of the late Joseph & Cecelia (Mastrolito) Maio. Mr. Mayo was raised in Malden and attended Malden Schools. He was an entrepreneur, worked in sales and was self-employed in many businesses. He was a resident of Malden for many years and a Saugus resident for the past 37 years. He was a member of the Sons of Italy of Braintree for several years and enjoyed playing cards, the horse track and trips to Florida with his wife Kay. Frank was the beloved husband of 60 years to Katherine M. (Canavan) Mayo. Loving father of Susan E. Mayo and Joseph F. Mayo, both of Saugus. Caring brother of Mary Upton & her husband Al of FL, Rose Marie Jackson & her husband Jesse of Plymouth & the late Lucille Meuse & Elizabeth Chimi. Cherished grandfather of Kim J. Snook of Wakefield, Thomas R. Snook of Woburn & Cassie M. Staffieri of Melrose. Special great grandfather of Stephanie J. Goodreau and Scott C. Hurd, Jr. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Mon. Sept. 15th at 10:30AM. Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church 16 Summer St., Saugus at 11AM.
