Frederick S. Gamber passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Sept. 16, 2005, he was 76. Fred was born and raised in Atoona PA and graduated from Penn State University. Mr. Gamber served in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked as a computer engineer for Draper Labs for over 20 years. Fred lived in Florida & Wisconsin for several years and has been a resident of Melrose since 1977. Mr. Gamber was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Woburn where he volunteered as a financial secretary & caretaker for many years and was a member of the VFW Harold OYoung Post #2394 in Melrose. Fred was the husband of Joan M. (Hubbard) Gamber. Stepfather of Deborah Ward & her husband Tom, Frank Vitukevich & his wife Patty all of Saugus and Laurie Buckingham & her husband Corey of Stoneham. Brother of James Gamber of OH & Carl Gamber of NC. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral services will be held at The Redeemer Lutheran Church, 60 Forest Park Rd. Woburn, on Tues. Sept. 20th, at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday from 4-8PM.
