Obituary

George F. Beeman Jr., of Malden, died at the Epoch of Melrose on Sept. 28, 2011 at the age of 91. George was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during WWII. After returning from the war, George attended Franklin Institute in Boston. He resided in West Roxbury until the age of 38 and Malden for most of his life. George worked as a Civil Engineer at the Dept. of Transportation in Boston for the Commonwealth of Mass. for over 35 years. He enjoyed dining out, following the stock market, Peter Sellers Pink Panther movies and was a big animal lover, especially dogs. George loved spending time at home with his family and most of all, his granddaughter Lili. He was an avid reader, enjoying the Wall Street Journal and the New Yorker. George was the beloved husband of Regina A. (MacNeil) Beeman for 53 years. Loving father of Gregory F. Beeman & Maria B. Palomino & her husband Manuel, all of Malden. Cherished grandfather of Liliana Grace. Caring brother of the late Mary Salmon. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday Oct. 1st at 8:45AM. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8PM. Burial in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. WWII Army Veteran. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in George's name to Alzheimer's Research Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
