Obituary

George R. Madden passed away at the Hammersmith House Nursing Center on Sunday, July 19, 2009. He was 63 years of age. George was born in Everett on March 1, 1946 to the late Ray & Marion (Hutchinson) Madden. He was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. He worked as a truck driver at several local trucking companies in the Boston area for several years. Mr. Madden lived in Winthrop for many years and the past few years in Lynn. George was an avid Red Sox fan. He is survived by his 3 children, Melissa Madden & her fianc Brian Currier of Beverly, Alexander & Elizabeth Madden both of Winthrop. Grandfather of Matthew Madden & Christopher Currier. Brother of Charles Madden & his wife Jane of Melrose, Robert Madden & his wife Deborah of Peabody and the late Jack Madden. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. July 22nd at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8PM. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St. #B102, Danvers, 01923.
