George "Marty" Iversen., of Wakefield, passed away on December 10, 2022, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, at the age of 77.

Marty was born April 1st of 1945. Born and raised in Melrose, Marty attended St. Mary's in Melrose, BC High, and received his BA from St. Bonavanture. Marty's love of books led him to be a manager of book stores in the Boston area. Later, he managed a lighting store.

Marty had an engaging personality and a quick wit. He made friends wherever he went! People just naturally liked him. A good brother and son, he will be sorely missed by those who survive him!

Marty was the devoted son of the late George & Anne (Sullivan) Iversen. Caring brother of Rev. Anne Seddon & her husband Jack of KS, Judith Iversen of Stoneham, Thomas Iversen of Hopkinton and the late Mary Mossay & her late husband Bill and the late Robert Iversen. Also survived by 1 niece, several nephews, relatives & friends.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 6:00-8:00PM. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Forest Glade Cemetery, 470 Lowell St., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
