George Q. Packard Jr. passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was 79 Years of age. Mr. Packard was raised in Melrose, graduated from The Governors Academy and from Brown University. George worked for Wainwright Bank & Trust Company in Boston as the Vice President of Investor Relations for many years and was a member of the Board of Directors. A lifelong resident of Melrose, George enjoyed going to work every day and playing golf at Bellevue Golf Club in Melrose, where he has been a longtime member. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and loved going to Chatham on Cape Cod every summer. George was the beloved husband of the Late Mary (Dailey) Packard. Loving father of Lisa Dennesen & her husband Christopher of Beverly and the late George Q. Packard III. Loving grandfather of Christopher F. Dennesen Jr. and Ryan Quin Dennesen. Step-brother of Beverlie Tuttle and Brad Benson. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Visiting hours will held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday July 5th from 3:00-6:00PM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral services and burial will be private.
