Obituary

George W. Thibeau, 72, died at the Lahey Hitchock Medical Center Thursday after a brief illness. Born and raised in Yarmouth Nova Scotia, Canada, he served in the Canadian Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime Melrose resident who owned and operated Thibeau Oil Co, of Melrose for 15 yrs until he retired in 1990. George was the husband of Irene M. ( Lembo ) Thibeau. Father of David Thibeau of Salem NH. Grandfather of Anthony Thibeau, Michael and Timothy Longmore. Brother of Kathleen Carroll of Nova Scotia, Dorothy Moser of Alberta, Ann D'Eon of Nova Scotia. and the late Howard and James Thibeau. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Tues Feb.5 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation, 429 Upham St., Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Mon 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.
