Gerald F. "Jerry" Killion, of Melrose, died at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on May 28, 2010 at the age of 73. Jerry was born in Boston, raised in Malden and graduated from Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1954. He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga. After returning from the service, Jerry went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from Suffolk University in 1961. Jerry worked as an Agent for the Treasury Department in Boston for 40 years and had over 48 years of service to the government. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose and Salem Willows Yacht Club, where he was on the Board of Directors for several years. Jerry was a longtime Melrose resident and the beloved husband of Joan R. (Healey) Killion. Loving father of Michael P. Killion & his wife Kathleen of Rowley, Patricia A. Brown & her husband Robert of Melrose, Shawn F. Killion of Wakefield and Kathleen R. Johnson & her husband Paul of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Rachel, Robbie, Chris, Jack, Joe and Brad. Caring brother of Carol A. Boben & her husband Ron of Reading and the late Arthur P. Killion & his wife Maureen of Malden. Brother in law of Patricia LaPierre & her husband Roland of NH and Maureen Brady & her husband Raymond of Medford. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday June 2nd at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
