Gerard J. Marinelli passed away suddenly at his home in Melrose on June 10, 2011. He was 52 years of age. Gerard was born in Melrose on July 22, 1958 to the late Anthony & Evelyn (Cottreau) Marinelli. He was raised in Melrose and graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School, Class of 1972 and from Melrose High School, Class of 1976. Mr. Marinelli has been a lifelong resident of Melrose. Gerard worked as a technician for AVCO for many years and then for Textron in Wilmington for the past 4 years. He loved music, was a Boston sports fan and enjoyed working around his home. Mr. Marinelli was the son of the late Anthony & Evelyn (Cottreau) Marinelli. Brother of Jack Marinelli & his wife Charlene of Melrose, Cheryl M. Marinelli & her husband Carl Baltrunas of CA and the late Karl A. Marinelli. Uncle of Julie Zanonni & her husband Ken of Andover and John Marinelli Jr. & his wife Lan of Wakefield. Loving companion of Laurie LaBombard of Wakefield Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, June 17th at 10:30AM. A Mass of Christian Burial for Gerard will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11:30AM. Relatives & friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00PM.
